Bio

My name is Scott S. Floyd, and I live in Gladewater, Texas. I currently serve as the district Technology Curriculum Specialist after ten years in the classroom, mostly teaching middle school reading, English, and gifted and talented. I have also taught first grade self-contained. My current focus is on helping teachers integrate technology tools into their curriculum both in instruction and personal learning. Educators and students alike can use these tools to manipulate information in a productive and efficient manner.

I have posted my resume below to give you more insight into my background.

Career Objectives/Goals

I have always felt that God led me into the education so that I can affect positive change for youth. The longer I am in the classroom, the more encouraged I am that I can do more for more kids with my knowledge. I actively lobby on behalf of public schools in Austin during every session. I meet regularly with legislators year round in order to stay abreast of changes and new ideas floating around the Capitol. I have found that I enjoy this larger engagement in public schools. I would like to become a curriculum director in a school district so that I can touch every child in the community educationally. I know that I can work collaboratively with students, parents, and educators to assure that the programs in place are the best available for the district and its needs. When new needs arise, my natural inclination for researching important topics will aid me in recommending the right choice to the committee and/or school board. My dogged determinedness will be an attribute to any school district. Eventually, I would like to be a college instructor where I can train future educators.

Personal Objectives/Goals

My personal goals are intertwined. My leading goal is to have my Lord and savior Jesus Christ reflect in me in every way possible. His guidance and wisdom provided to me will allow me to be the best husband, father, and educator that I can. I continue to try and build a stable, friendly community church as a deacon that will encourage others to live a life reflective of the model Christ has given us.
